The World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) has awarded Montenegro the international Safe Travels stamp.
This is a specially designed stamp that allows travelers to identify destinations and companies around the world that have adopted global health and hygiene standards as an important prerequisite for safe travel during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The safety protocols and measures adopted by the Institute of Public Health of Montenegro in cooperation with the competent institutions in the field of tourism are intended to make tourists’ stay in the country as pleasant as possible and to protect tourists’ health, in line with WTTC global protocols.
“As compliance with health measures is imperative worldwide, we expect this initiative to lead to more intensive cooperation between the private and public sectors in terms of protecting tourists’ health and earning their trust, which will contribute to the recovery of tourism,” said Željka Radak Kukavičić, Director of the National Tourism Organisation of Montenegro.
Other European holders of the Safe Travels stamp include Croatia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Portugal, Spain, Ukraine, and Turkey. In addition, 20 more countries in the USA, Africa, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific region have received it.
