More than 850,000 Belarusians officially went on holiday abroad in 2018. That is about 100,000 more people than in 2017. The data applies only to those who bought a tour package. It is cited in the latest Belstat collection“Tourism and Tourist Resources in the Republic of Belarus”.Every year, more and more Belarusians travel abroad for holidays. In 2018, there were 850,724 of them, compared with 727,536 in 2017 and 495,727 in 2016.
Last year, Belarusians most often went to Egypt for holidays: 211,962 people. That is almost twice as many as the year before. Turkey ranks second in popularity among Belarusians. In 2018, 151,393 Belarusians vacationed there. Ukraine comes next, with 122,137 Belarusians traveling there on holiday.The top 10 countries for Belarusians’ holidays in 2018 looks like this:
