In the coming year, the Government of Montenegro plans to sellBudva Riviera, the largest hotel group, and several smaller national companies, as well as continue the privatization of the Simo Milošević Institute from Igalo in accordance with the Administrative Court’s decision.
This is stated in the draft Privatization Plan for 2023, which was adopted by the Council for Privatization and Capital Projects last week.
At its third session, chaired by Prime Minister Dritan Abazović, the Council for Privatization and Capital Projects determined the draft decision on the Privatization Plan for 2023:
“The plan is defined by the main objectives of privatization and other aspects of this process, the methods and means of privatization, with established lists of companies and the percentage of share capital to be privatized. The main goal of privatization is to increase the competitiveness and efficiency of companies’ operations, encourage foreign investment and entrepreneurship in all areas, increase employment, and improve living standards,”it is statedin the government’s announcement.
Under the model of selling shares through the stock exchange, shares of the following companies will be offered: AD "AgroTransport" - Podgorica; AD "Kotor - Project" - Kotor; AD "Metal produkt" - Podgorica; AD "Montenegroturist" - Budva; and "Crnagoracoop" AD - Danilovgrad.
