Inflation in 2022will be the highestsince Montenegro regained independence, the Council of the Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG) said at a meeting. This is stated in the Report on Price Dynamics for the third quarter of 2022, which was adopted by the Council.
“It was noted that inflation is mainlyimported, meaning it is caused by international market factors, while a smaller part is the result of internal imbalances. The model forecast for the end of 2022 suggests that inflation will range from 16.2% to 18.9%, with a central forecast of 17.8%. The CBCG’s expert assessment forecasts inflation in the range of 16% to 20%.
In order to fulfill the CBCG’s obligation to determine the countercyclical buffer rate on a quarterly basis, the Council adopted a Decision on the capital countercyclical buffer rate for the first quarter of 2023.
