At present, 38 coronavirus infections have been registered, the Institute of Public Health said. Due to the new cases, mandatory wearing of protective masks has been reintroduced in the country. Masks must be worn on public transport, in shops, at markets and in other enclosed public venues.
According to the authorities, residents brought the infection from Belgrade after attending a major football match there. The fans returned via Bosnia and Herzegovina, as the border with Serbia is closed due to the pandemic.
Bosnia and Herzegovina has now been removed from the list of countries whose borders with Montenegro are open. From now on, entry from this country requires a coronavirus test taken no more than 48 hours earlier.
Over the past 24 hours, 119 COVID-19 tests were conducted. There are currently 38 active cases in Montenegro:
