The arrival of the international supermarket chain Lidl in Montenegro marks an important step in the development of the country’s retail sector. The first store is planned to open in the settlement of Mahala, Zeta Municipality, which demonstrates the company’s strategic approach to location selection.

According to the project developed by the studio
Optimusproject, the future store will be located on a plot of approximately 9,000 m². The total gross floor area of the building will be 2,583.96 m², of which 2,236.56 m² will be net usable space. Special attention has been paid to landscaping: 25% of the site, namely 2,164 m², will be occupied by green areas, contributing to a better environmental situation and the aesthetic appearance of the neighborhood.
The parking area is designed for 124 spaces, including 4 spaces for people with special needs and 2 for pregnant women. In addition, two parking spaces with charging stations for electric vehicles are planned, reflecting the company’s commitment to modern environmental standards.
Strategic Importance of the Location
The choice of Mahala in Zeta Municipality for the first store is no coincidence. Its location near the Petrovac–Podgorica Adriatic Highway
providesconvenient access for both Podgorica residents and people from coastal areas. In addition, the planned construction of an additional road will improve transport accessibility, attracting a larger number of customers from nearby settlements.
