According to Montenegro’s Minister of Capital Investments, Mladen Bojanić, the new Montenegrin airline To Montenegro (Air Montenegro) will begin operating its first flights on the Podgorica–Belgrade and Tivat–Belgrade routes in June 2021.
At a joint press conference with his Serbian counterpart, Tomislav Momirović, in Belgrade, Bojanić said that these two routes had proven to be the most economically viable and the most beneficial in terms of economic cooperation between Serbia and Montenegro.
“You know that we had a problem with our national airline Montenegro Airlines (MA), which could no longer operate financially. Whatever obligations there are, we will take them over and resolve them quickly,” Bojanić said.
In addition, at its regular session, the Government of Montenegro decided to pay three million euros to the new national airline ToMontenegro.
At the session, it was emphasized that the company will use the approved funds to create the necessary conditions for the normal functioning of the company so that it can begin operations as soon as possible.
