From January next year, citizenswill be able to getfrom Belgrade to Zlatibor in just one hour and 45 minutes, because one of the most difficult tasks — the breakthrough of the tunnel in Trbušani — has been completed.
Hope that this deadline will not be exceeded is tied to the fact that construction of the bridge over the West Morava, located at the confluence of the Kamenica and this river, is nearing completion. And this is one of the key points related to the completion of the bypass around the town of Čačak.
In other words, the prevailing disbelief thatthe Chinese construction companywould complete this 30-kilometer section a year ahead of schedule has been dispelled.
From Belgrade to the border with Montenegro — in just 2.5 hours
In practical terms, this means that next summer city residents heading on holiday to Montenegro by car should reach the Adriatic coast much faster. This road will be shortened even further in the coming years, when the remaining 107 kilometers of road infrastructure from Požega to Boljare are completed, reducing travel time from Belgrade to the Montenegrin border from the current six hours to just two and a half hours.
Builders working on the road from Preljina to Požega say they do not know when the state will begin implementing these 107 kilometers, but they do know for sure that neither difficult weather conditions nor geological problems have delayed this route.
The director of the Chinese company, Zhang Xiaoyuan, promised that construction of the highway from Preljina to Požega will be completed no later than Christmas 2022.
Construction is also continuing on the bridge over the West Morava, located at the confluence of the Kamenica and this river, in the immediate vicinity of the Pakovraće interchange. At present, the bridge is 80 percent complete, and the work is proceeding at the planned pace. It is 336 meters long and has ten spans, the largest of which is 36 meters.
