Doctors in Montenegro are monitoring the condition of 184 people. No virus was detected in the Montenegrin citizen who had previously been suspected of infection aboard the Diamond Princess cruise liner in Japan.
The coronavirus epidemic has not only claimed the lives of several thousand people around the world, but has also affected economic activity. The losses to the global economy are enormous.
However, there are no alarming signs that this will negatively affect the development of tourism in Montenegro. The President of the Tourism and Hospitality Association, Mr. Dragan Purko Ivančević, notes that the outlook ahead of the season is very good.
“Along with a stable and safe situation,” he adds, “it is important that tourists feel safe and are not afraid that they will contract any disease.”However, Dragan Ivančević warns that the coronavirus situation could affect the tourist season in Montenegro if it continues. Some tourists have already postponed their arrival until May, although they were supposed to come at the end of February.
