The director of Montenegro’s Institute of Public Health, Igor Galić, said that since the start of the summer season, the country has carried out 10,000free PCR tests for tourists. Of these, only 84 were positive. At present, three tourists are being treated in COVID hospitals in Montenegro.
The institute director also noted that, despite more than one hundred thousand foreigners crossing the border in recent months, infection rates have risen only slightly, but he did not rule out an increase in the autumn.
There are currently 327 active cases in Montenegro.
Vaccination of Montenegro’s citizens
The first dose of the vaccinewas received byalmost 162,000 people, or 26.1%, while more than 146,000 people received the second dose.
In Montenegro, 35.4 percent of the adult population has been vaccinated with the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, and 31.9 percent has been revaccinated. To date, 307,939 doses of the coronavirus vaccine have been administered.
Mass vaccination against coronavirus began in Montenegro on May 4.
