In the very heart of Kotor, near the Old Town, construction has begun on a five-star luxury hotelMarriott.
The hotel and tourism complex is being built by the Montenegrin-Estonian company CG Hotel. The work is being carried out by the Kotor-based construction company Briv.
“This is a Marriott hotel building. The plot area of the complex is 7,475 m2. The total gross floor area of the building is 13,427.7 m2,” the local administration said.
Work began at the end of August, as announced by Mayor Vladimir Jokić at a parliamentary session. He added that with the removal of the parking lot on the URC site, the city will lose 250 parking spaces, expressing hope that this will be replaced by parking on the former Autoboka site.

As stated in the conceptual design, in addition to the construction of a high-category hotel complex, the development of a swimming pool and a public promenade (along the banks of the Škurda River) is also planned.
Amenities at the Marriott hotel
Residential units will be located on the upper floors. In the central part of the building there will be a Wellness & Spa Center, extending along the façade with a sea view. The indoor pool is part of the spa center. It will have an extension in the form of an open terrace, which also runs parallel to the façade and connects to the outdoor pool measuring 10 m x 20 m. The area between the open terrace and the building is landscaped with greenery, both to create a pleasant atmosphere and to provide visual and functional separation from the adjacent rooms. The proposed architectural direction is aimed at preserving Kotor’s authentic architecture and adapting and improving the existing landscape.
In total, the hotel will have 120 accommodation units — standard rooms and suites. All rooms and apartments have access to a terrace. The only exception is eight residential units, where priority is given to the aesthetic individuality of the property. The rooms on the secluded floor overlook green terraces. All accommodation units will meet the 5+ hotel category.
