The ruling Democratic Party of Socialists is proposing the introduction of an excursion fee for visits to Perast, one of the most beautiful towns in the Bay of Kotor.Perast needs more care and attention than before. It is necessary to create a sustainable basis for the development of local infrastructure and the improvement of living conditions, according to an official statement from the Kotor branch of the party. As an example, DPS points to the Old Town in Kotor. In the first seven months, it was visited by 305,000 people as part of group tours. By the end of the year, at least 550,000 are expected. With a fee of 1 euro per person (for tourist groups of 5 or more), the municipality’s expected revenue would reach 550,000 euros. In the municipality of Kotor, the second most popular town is Perast. Revenue from the excursion fee here could amount to at least 250,000 euros, DPS notes.
