In 2023 and 2024, the government plans to invest 200 million euros annually in the construction of the second section of the Bar-Boljare highway, stretching from Mateševo to Andrijevica, according to a proposal in the Economic Reform Programme. The programme is under public discussion, and according to it, from 2022 to 2024, 20 million euros will be allocated annually for the construction of the Adriatic-Ionian road, writes the newspaperDnevne novine.
Both infrastructure projects were reported in the Western Balkans Investment Framework, which confirmed its support only for the secondmotorway.
As proposed in the latest EU report, in order for the same support to be granted for the second section of the highway, a cost-benefit analysis financed by the European Union must be completed.
The announced allocations for the second section of the road — regardless of who ultimately finances it — are significantly higher than the initially envisaged amount.
