The Government of Montenegro, at its meeting on Thursday, adopted and published information containing a list of names of those who received a Montenegrin passport under the economic citizenship program as of May 25, 2022.
The list includes 409 foreign citizens who also receivedMontenegrin citizenship through investment.
The program began in 2020, and candidates for citizenship, in addition to the main criteria, which included a donation of 100,000 euros intended for the development of less developed areas in the north, and an investment of at least 250,000 euros in projects in the north or at least 450,000 euros in projects in the south, as well as additional donations of 100,000 euros to the Innovation Fund.
This program has been criticized by the European Commission and will be terminated by the end of this year.
