The Montenegro Environmental Protection Fund is offering citizens and companies three more subsidies of five thousand euros for the purchase ofan electric vehicle.
“Under the public call for the purchase of electric and hybrid vehicles, subsidy agreements have so far been signed with 20 users for the purchase of hybrid vehicles, while a grant agreement for the purchase of electric vehicles has been signed with seven users,” thestatementsaid.
Under this public call, published at the end of January this year, the Eco Fund provided grants worth 100,000 euros.
“Of this amount, 50,000 euros were allocated to subsidize the purchase of hybrids, and 50,000 euros to subsidize the purchase of electric vehicles. The Eco Fund subsidized the purchase of a hybrid vehicle by 2,500 euros, while the subsidy for the purchase of an electric vehicle amounts to five thousand euros,” the Eco Fund said.
Subsidy goals for the purchase of an electric vehicle
The aim of the public call, it was added, is to directly encourage the purchase of environmentally friendly transport as part of measures to improve air quality and the environment.
“In order to preserve, rationally use, protect and improve the environment, increase energy efficiency, and use renewable sources and energy, it is important to encourage the purchase of environmentally friendly vehicles.
“By co-financing the purchase of electric and hybrid vehicles, we will directly influence the improvement of air quality, as well as the reduction of air pollution sources, that is, the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from road traffic in Montenegro,” the statement said.
Private individuals are entitled to a subsidy for the purchase of one vehicle, while companies and entrepreneurs may purchase no more than two.
