A memorandum of understanding was recently signed with the government, marking the beginning of a new phase of cooperation with U.S. support.
Bechtel and Enka will take part in the construction
According to Spajić, the implementation of this strategic transport project is one of the foundations of long-term cooperation between Montenegro and Washington. Bechtel and Enka have expressed strong motivation to participate in the construction and modernization of an important route connecting the coastal region with the northern part of the country.
The companies had previously shown interest in the first phase of the motorway, but financial and geopolitical circumstances then prevented the project from being completed. The new negotiations and official recognition by the authorities indicate the country’s readiness to enter the active phase of project implementation.
