At the Intergovernmental Conference, Montenegro is opening the final chapter in the negotiations on accession to the European Union (EU).
On this day, eight years ago, the EU began negotiations with Montenegro. On the occasion of the eighth anniversary of the EU negotiations, chief negotiator Aleksandar Drljević said that Montenegro has achieved major results in cooperation with the EU and that it is now important to show that our institutions and our legislative framework are fully functional. After the official opening of the final chapter, Drljević added, the Brussels administration showed that the enlargement policy remains active in these difficult times, when we are all facing the coronavirus pandemic.
