Last year, despite the coronavirus pandemic, Montenegro received €663 million in foreign direct investment (FDI). Over the same period, outflows amounted to €195.5 million.
Without a doubt, NATO countries invested the most money in Montenegro — €230 million.
Individually, Russia firmly holds first place in investments, having invested €99 million in Montenegro over 12 months. It is followed by China with investments of €71 million and Switzerland with just over €63 million.
The total inflowof foreign direct investmentsdecreased by 14.8% compared with the same period, which is the result of a decline in property investments, according to the Central Bank bulletin.
