Commissionerfor the EUon innovation, research, culture, education and youth, Mariya Gabriel, signed an agreement on closer cooperation with Montenegro under the Horizon Europe program for the period from 2021 to 2027, RTCG reports.
An agreement was also signed with Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Serbia, Georgia, and Israel.“Researchers, innovators, and research organizations established in the region can now fully participate in the EU program worth 95.5 billion euros on equal terms with organizations from EU member states,” the European Commission said in a statement.EU Commissioner Mariya Gabriel welcomed the participation of five countries from the region in the project.“By working together, we can attract investment, develop human capital, support startups, and create the necessary conditions for growth. The implementation of the Agenda for the Western Balkans and participation in Horizon Europe will have a major impact on the region and Europe as a whole,” the commissioner said.Participation in Horizon Europe will allow the Western Balkan countries to develop projects, technologies, and conduct research and activities that will help address global challenges.Участие в Horizon Europe позволит странам Западных Балкан разрабатывать проекты, технологии и проводить исследования и деятельность, которые будут способствовать решению глобальных проблем.
