Minister of Public Administration Marash Dukajsignedin Brussels an agreement between the EU and Montenegro on our country’s participation in the Digital Europe programme for the 2021–2027 period.
Minister Dukaj noted that the signing of the Agreement betweenthe European Unionand Montenegro, and Montenegro’s accession to the Digital Europe programme, is an important milestone and a significant step on our path toward a digital future and European values.
He emphasized that, with the support of partners from the European Union, Montenegro will accelerate the development of digital transformation, improve e-services, enhance methods for preventing cyberattacks, and promote digital education in order to equip citizens and the economy with modern technologies.
As the minister noted, joining the Digital Europe programme brings Montenegro numerous benefits.
In this process, he stressed, the citizens of Montenegro play a key role. “State institutions, the digital and innovation community, as well as the academic and business communities, research centers, and the civil sector will be able to gain direct benefits,” Dukaj said.
The Digital Europe programme opens the door for Montenegro to participate, in cooperation with partners from across the EU, in projects funded under the programme, use solutions developed within the programme, and keep pace with EU digital priorities. The total value of this seven-year programme is estimated at EUR 7.5 billion.
