By the beginning of September, Montenegrohad already receivedtourism revenues budgeted for the entire year 2021, said Minister of Economic DevelopmentJakov Milatović. He wrote on Twitter that over four months, from May 1 to August 31, 2.3 million foreign visitors arrived in Montenegro, five times more than in 2020.
The minister noted that in March, when the draft budget was submitted to parliament, few believed thatthe tourist seasoncould be like this.
“I would like to remind you that in 2019, which was a record year, Montenegro earned 1.1 billion euros from tourism, while last year it was only 144 million, which is 87% less than in 2019! This year’s budget was projected at 660 to 710 million euros (i.e. 60–65% of 2019 revenues),” Milatović wrote on Twitter.
