The European Unionplans to provide another €600 million in funding under its economic and investment plan for the Western Balkans by the end of 2021,saidEuropean Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
“This year, €500 million has already been allocated under the plan, and I am pleased to announce that, since the project is progressing so well, we can allocate another €600 million for this year,” von der Leyen said.
“In total, €9 billion was available for financing, but another €20 billion could be used as investments,” said the head of the EU executive.
