The yacht was built at the German shipyard Nobiskrug and is currently the largest sailing yacht in the world. The vessel’s cruising speed is 29 km/h, and its top speed is 39 km/h. It can accommodate around 20 guests and a crew of 54.
Philippe Starck designed the yacht in a futuristic style. The yacht is 142.81 m long and 24.88 m wide. In addition, the vessel has three masts, each about 90 meters high.
The yacht’s hull is made of steel, and the deck is covered with teak wood. The yacht has 8 decks, a helipad, and a room for observing the underwater world.
The sailing yacht is equipped with two diesel and two electric engines. In addition, it is fitted with modern navigation systems.
The yacht is named after billionaire Andrey and his wife Alexandra, a former Serbian model and member of the pop group Models. By the way, this is Melnichenko’s second vessel. His first yacht (a motor yacht) has the same name — A. It is estimated to be worth €300 million.
According to Forbes, Andrey Melnichenko’s fortune reaches $13.8 billion. In the 2019 ranking of the 200 richest entrepreneurs in Russia, he is in 8th place.
