The largest shopping center in Montenegro, Delta City in Podgorica, has officially becomeBIG Fashion, part of the BIG CEE group, an Israeli company that acquired the country’s largest shopping center for 95 million euros in February this year, theCity Mall in June, and announced new acquisitions in several Montenegrin cities.
Podgorica Mayor Ivan Vuković announced that the Israeli investor will acquire several more shopping centers, including Capital Plaza in Podgorica.
Opening of BIG Fashion in Podgorica
The technical-mandate Prime Minister Dritan Abazović said at the opening of Big Fashion that this is the first major Israeli investment in Montenegro, bringing change with it.
“Podgorica should be only the beginning. Everyone who wants honest business is welcome here. This applies to our friends from Israel and from all over the world. We want to promote healthy investments, a healthy economy, so that our youth can find jobs in Montenegro, and to do everything to make Podgorica and Montenegro look more beautiful and better,” Abazović emphasized.
He congratulated everyone who, he said, made an invaluable contribution to the rapid realization of this investment.
Eitan Bar Zev, chairman of the board of BIG Shopping Centres Israel, said that the company, together with its subsidiary AFI, has been successfully operating in Israel and the Eastern European region for many years.
“We are very pleased that, by entering the Montenegrin market and making our first investments worth 150 million euros, we have taken a step toward expanding into the Balkan region. This is only the beginning of news in the form of modern retail parks, new international brands, and the international experience that BIG will bring to Podgorica, as well as to other cities in Montenegro such as Ulcinj, Bar, Tivat, Nikšić, and Kotor. We have big plans, and the most important thing for us is satisfied visitors,” he said.
The Mayor of Podgorica said that BIG’s arrival in Podgorica means new jobs and multi-million-euro investments.
