China will donate more than seven million euros to Montenegro for the reconstruction of the Đurđevića Bridge on the Tara River, which is one of the country’s most important tourist attractions, China Radio International Online reports.
“Based on the Chinese side’s expressed interest in being ready to donate funds for the reconstruction of the Đurđevića Bridge, which is a tourist and architectural landmark and was built between 1938 and 1940, the Government of Montenegro gratefully acknowledges this contribution,” the Montenegrin side said.
In information published by the Government of Montenegro, it is stated that the estimated value of the donation and costs is around seven million euros, and that the reconstruction plan should be implemented by the end of 2021.
