The airports in Podgorica and Tivat will soon be renovated and modernized to provide passengers with as much comfort as possible and, over time, generate more revenue through non-aeronautical income. Around one million euros will be invested in the development and modernization project. This was announced by the executive director of Airports of Montenegro, Danilo Orlandic.
He explained that no investments have been made in the business lounges of both airports for a long time, but they must meet the standards of the clients they are intended for. Thus, around 400,000 euros will be invested in the renovation of the VIP lounge at Podgorica Airport.
Last year, non-aeronautical revenues of Airports of Montenegro, which include shops, cafes and restaurants, office space rentals and advertising areas, accounted for 8% and 4.7 million euros respectively of total revenues, compared to 35 million euros the previous year.
