Bemax has begun asphalting the “Moračica” bridge, the largest and most expensive structure on the Bar–Boljare highway.
Thus, work on the priority section of the road from Smokovac (near Podgorica) to Mateševo (near Kolašin) is nearing completion. According to the latest data, about 93% of the work on this route has been completed. By the end of this year, the project is expected to be fully put into operation.
In addition to its impressive height, “Moračica” also stands out for its total width of 23.4 meters and length of 960 meters.
The bridge has five piers, the tallest of which is 161 meters high. The span from the bottom of the Morača River to the bridge will be more than 200 meters, making it the highest bridge in the former Yugoslavia.
The “Moračica” bridge is also the most expensive structure on the future highway, with construction already costing 74.5 million euros.
