The contract for the construction of the future road on the M-1 highway, the “airportTivat- Jaz” section, was signed today in Podgorica.
As Prime Minister Dritan Abazović said after the contract was signed, this section is the busiest route in Montenegro, especially during the season.
“After the reconstruction, this road will look completely different. Between Budva and Tivat, we have the highest traffic intensity, especially in the summer months, which prompted the government and the Road Administration to conclude the contract for the construction of the boulevard as soon as possible,” Abazović said, according toeKapija.
“We also took into account the demands of the residents of Grblje. There were also those who were not satisfied, not because they did not want better infrastructure, but because they were not sure what the project would ultimately look like. The Road Administration did everything to establish standards that will significantly improve access to their homes and business facilities and allow everyone to have much better service when it comes to road infrastructure,” Abazović said.
According to him, Montenegro should be a country where huge investments are made in infrastructure, not only road infrastructure, but all types of transport.
After the season, work will be intensified along the entire road, and the project includes the construction of several roundabouts.
“I remind you that this is a boulevard, not a highway. Our goal is, of course, to build an extension of the existing road, as well as the Adriatic-Ionian highway. However, until we are able to implement these investments, we must reconstruct the existing road routes,” Abazović added.
Before signing the contract, the Prime Minister also posted a video on social media ofwhat this road will look like.
“This is what the boulevard from Jaz to Tivat will look like. Today, the contract for its construction will be signed at Villa Gorica. We are building better infrastructure for more dynamic development and better connectivity in our country. Montenegro is on the right path,” Abazović said.
