This autumn, most Russians who decided to take a vacation chose Russia for their trips. Thus, 93.6% of all flight bookings for the velvet season were made for travel within Russia. This was reported by the head of the press service of the travel planning service OneTwoTripElena Shelekhova.
According to the service, the most popular destinations for holidays in September and October were Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Sochi. The Russian capital accounted for 26.9% of bookings, St. Petersburg for 10.9%, and Sochi for 8.7%.
Montenegro is among the most popular destinations for Russians
The list of popular destinations also included Kaliningrad (5%), Simferopol (4.2%), Mineralnye Vody (2.8%), Krasnodar (2.6%), Kazan (2.5%), Ufa (2.4%), and Anapa (1.8%).
“Among foreign travel destinations, Turkey is in the highest demand (1.6% of all bookings), followed by Armenia (1.5%), Greece (0.3%), Cyprus (0.2%), andMontenegro(0.1%),”Shelekhova saidin an interview.
More than 60% of participants in a study conducted by the online financial platform Webbankir admitted that beach holidays at domestic or foreign resorts are the ideal vacation option.
