Total inflowof direct foreign investmentinvested in Montenegro by the end of August amounted to EUR 758.22 million, which is 44.58 percent more than in the same period last year. According to preliminary data from the Central Bank(CBCG), the largest contribution to the growth came from investments in share capital. At the same time, EUR 198.89 million was withdrawn from the country.
“Net inflow of direct foreign investment amounted to EUR 559.33 million, which is 78.04 percent higher compared to the same period last year,” the CBCG bulletin says.
EUR 72.58 million flowed out of the country based on residents’ investments abroad, while withdrawals by non-residents of funds invested in Montenegro amounted to EUR 126.31 million.
The inflow of direct foreign investment in the form of share capital investments amounted to EUR 410.76 million, accounting for 54.17 percent of the total. Of this, EUR 281.59 million was invested in real estate, and EUR 129.17 million in companies and banks.
