Food service establishments in Budva, Cetinje, Kolašin, Ulcinj, and Žabljak will be closed starting Monday, October 19. Kindergartens and schools will switch to remote learning. This was announced by the Public Health Institute of Montenegro.
According to them, the epidemiological situation in these municipalities has worsened, as the COVID-19 infection rate there has exceeded 800 per 100,000 people. This means that the above-mentioned municipalities now belong to Group 3 (red). Therefore, stricter restrictions will be in force here for the next 14 days.
The Institute states that there are no municipalities with an infection rate exceeding 1,200 per 100,000 residents. At the same time, they do not expect any to appear, as that would mean introducing a movement ban from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
“Cumulative incidence in Podgorica currently stands at 792.7 per 100,000 residents. The decision to introduce stricter restrictions in the capital will be made after statistical processing of all samples sent to Germany,” the Institute added.
