Work on the promenade’s landscaping has begun as part of the first phase, near the post office. The cost is estimated at 95,000 euros.
The contractor is Incom, a company from Podgorica. It will carry out earthworks and install curbs, benches, and waste bins. A pedestrian bridge over the Savičić Stream is also planned. The works should be completed in 50 days.
The second phase is expected to include landscaping and the installation of lighting systems. Around 400 varieties of different Mediterranean plants will be planted along the boulevard. The contract for the works is in the process of being concluded.
However, as previously reported, the landscaping is temporary in nature. Last year, the authorities announced an international competition to develop an architectural concept for the new look of Šetalište, as this promenade area is called. The reconstruction will cover the entire promenade, from the Old Town in Budva to the village of Rafailovići. The project is estimated at 10 to 12 million euros.
Squares and other public spaces will be created לאורך the entire promenade, lawns will be laid out, and trees and shrubs will be planted. The works were planned to begin this autumn.Source.
