At the end of December 2020, 160,978 employed persons were registered in Montenegro, which is 37,588 fewer than in the same month of 2019, when there were 198,566. These data are presented in a report by the statistical office Monstat.
Statistical data show that the largest decline in the number of employees was recorded in the sector “wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles,” where the number of workers fell by 7,281.
It is followed by the sector “administrative and support service activities,” where the number of employees was down by 5,164, and then construction, where there were 4,771 more people employed at the end of 2019 than at the end of 2020.
