The Montenegrin statistical officeMonstathas summed up the tourist season. According to preliminary data, in the first eight months of 2022, the number of tourists and overnight stays increased by 24%compared with 2021. This result amounts to 81% of the 2019 figures.
The President of the Tourism Organization of Montenegro, Žarko Radulović, said that 2022 was definitely better for hotels than last year and, as he added, for some it was even better than 2019. At the same time, it is noted that demand for private accommodation was low.
As of October 20, there were 27.9 thousand tourists in Montenegro, which is 74% more than in the same period last year and slightly above the record number from 2019.
