The new quarantine measures include strict control at border crossings, with the exception of those entering from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, and Kosovo. The operation of betting shops, casinos, fitness centers, and gyms in Budva, Tivat, Herceg Novi, Podgorica, Cetinje, Nikšić, Kotor, Bar, Ulcinj, Plužine, and Pljevlja is prohibited. Also, in these cities, classes will be held online from March 11, and kindergartens will be closed from March 12.

- From March 13, entry into Montenegro is permitted with a PCR test no older than 48 hours, or with a positive IgG antibody test no older than 30 days, or with proof of vaccination (two doses of vaccine) at least seven days before entering Montenegro. These rules do not apply to those entering from Serbia, Kosovo, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Albania.
- Exit from the municipalities of Kotor, Pljevlja, Ulcinj, and Bar is prohibited.
- Restaurants in Bar and Pljevlja are closed.
- Schools have been moved online, kindergartens are closed.
- All retail outlets are prohibited from operating, except for grocery stores, pharmacies, and gas stations.
- All parks, playgrounds, and walking areas are closed.

According to Igor Galić, director of the Institute of Public Health of Montenegro, the new measures will be in force for 7 days (until March 18).
Over the past 24 hours, 8 patients have died in Montenegro: 3 from Nikšić, 2 from Bar, and one each from Podgorica, Kotor, and Herceg Novi. The youngest of them was 53 years old, and the oldest was 94. A total of 654 new COVID-19 infections were registered, while 585 patients recovered. The total number of currently active cases is 9,124, which is 1,448 per 100,000 inhabitants.
Health Minister Jelena Borovinić Bojović emphasizes that hospital capacity across the country has increased and that occupancy currently stands at 67%.
At the moment, more than 3,000 people in the country have already been vaccinated. Recall that 30,000 doses of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine have already arrived in Montenegro
