Average salaryIn January, the average salary in Montenegro, excluding taxes and contributions, amounted to 757 euros. The highest average wages in the previous month were earned by employees in the financial and insurance sectors — 1,198 euros, as well as in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply — 1,114 euros.
On the other hand, the lowest average salary in January was in manufacturing, at 603 euros, as well as in administrative and support service activities, at 600 euros. Of Montenegro’s 25 municipalities, the highest average salary in January was in Tivat, at 926 euros, and in Zeta, at 841 euros, while the lowest was in Ulcinj, at 635 euros, and Tuzi, at 626 euros, according to the latest data published by the Statistical OfficeMonstat.
Employees in the mining and quarrying sectors received 942 euros, healthcare and social protection — 934 euros, real estate activities — 919 euros, information and communication — 896 euros, education — 787 euros, and public administration and defence, compulsory social security — 782 euros.
Salaries below the national average were recorded in transportation and storage — 725 euros, construction — 723 euros, agriculture, forestry and fishing — 716 euros, arts, entertainment and recreation — 692 euros, accommodation and food service activities — 683 euros, water supply; sewerage, waste management and remediation activities — 672 euros, other service activities — 654 euros,
professional, scientific and technical activities — 645 euros, and wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles — 626 euros.
As for municipalities, apart from Tivat and Zeta, January salaries were above the national average of 757 euros only in Kotor — 782 euros, Podgorica — 780 euros, Pljevlja — 773 euros, and Cetinje — 772 euros, according to Monstat.
