The Ministry of Tourism of Montenegro has submitted a proposal to the National Coordination Council under the government to open the borders to Russian tourists.
The official letter states that demand for travel to Montenegro from Russia is very high and that travel agents regularly receive requests from their Russian counterparts.
In order to mitigate the impact of the pandemic on the tourism industry, whose turnover in the summer season of 2020 fell by 96%, the ministry is urging the authorities to take this step.
Recall that since July, flights to Montenegro have been allowed for citizens of Ukraine and Belarus. Previously, the authorities said that flights for Russian citizens could be allowed from August 1.
