Montenegro’s membership inthe EUis supported by the overwhelming majority of citizens, but according to public opinion polls, enthusiasm for European integration is highest in Albania. On the other hand, citizens of Serbia expressed the lowest support for the region’s EU membership, reportsRTCG.
The level of support is the same in Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and they share third place in the region after Albania and Kosovo.
Comparing polls in candidate countries and potential candidates, it can be seen that support among citizens in the region is even higher in Kosovo than in Montenegro.
According to DFC data, EU membership is supported by 76 percent of Montenegro’s citizens. In Albania, this support stands at 97 percent, while in Kosovo it is 93 percent.
In Bosnia and Herzegovina, 76 percent of citizens support membership, and in North Macedonia, 74 percent of citizens support joining the EU.
According to the polls, EU membership is supported by 34 percent of citizens in Serbia.
