According to the data presented at the government session, Montenegro’s municipalities received a total of 1.63 million euros as fees for unlegalized structures.
The same data show that 913 legalization decisions have been issued in Montenegro, out of 51,000 submitted requests. More than 38,000 requests have been processed.
The number of legalization decisions by municipality: Nikšić – 253, Bijelo Polje – 104, Podgorica – 76, Tuzi – 77, Tivat – 41, Žabljak – 31, Šavnik – 2, Rožaje – 47, Plužine – 26, Pljevlja – 8, Plav – 5, Mojkovac – 17, Kotor – 22, Kolašin – 15, Gusinje – 36, Danilovgrad – 64, Cetinje – 39, Budva – 14, Berane – 10, Andrijevica – 26.
The legalization procedure involves meeting a number of requirements in line with the project documentation. The funds collected during the legalization process will be invested in the construction of missing infrastructure and public-interest facilities in areas where the buildings were erected illegally.
The ultimate goal is to improve residents’ quality of life and develop the urban environment.
