“Researchers, innovators and research organizations established in the region can now fully participate in the €95.5 billion EU program on equal terms with organizations from EU member states,” the European Commission said in a statement.
EU Commissioner Mariya Gabriel welcomed the participation of five countries in the region in the project.
“By working together, we can attract investment, develop human capital, support startups and create the necessary conditions for growth. The implementation of the Agenda for the Western Balkans and participation in Horizon Europe will have a major impact on the region and Europe as a whole,” the commissioner said.
Participation in Horizon Europe will allow the Western Balkan countries to develop projects, technologies and carry out research and activities that will contribute to solving global problems.
