Despite this, the number of flight programs did not increase significantly compared with last year. Flights from Russia in summer are operated only from two cities: Moscow and St. Petersburg.
This year, tour operators’ flight programs to Montenegro started in early June and will run until the end of September (less often — October). All market participants note growth in demand this season — up 10–15% compared with last year.
In the ranking of the most in-demand summer destinations of 2019, Montenegro entered the top 10, overtaking last year’s ranking participant — Croatia, reportsATOR.
“At the beginning of the 2019 season, sales for this destination started very well as part of the Early Booking promotion. Compared with last year, sales figures have grown significantly. Today, sales rates are in line with the planned volumes,” note at ANEX Tour.
At Intourist, the growth in demand is partly linked to the decline that occurred last year due to the FIFA World Cup in Russia. “Booking volumes for the dates of the championship this year exceed last year’s volumes by 61%. We attribute this growth precisely to the fact that many tourists stayed home last year,” the company’s press service explained.
Most companies this year have kept last year’s routes and transport volumes to Montenegro. They have increased at TUI Russia, while PAC Group increased its volume by 30%.
The main trend for Montenegro in the 2019 season among Biblio-Globus tourists is a longer trip duration and a choice of higher-category hotels. If last year tourists preferred a 7-night stay in a 2–3* hotel, this year the most popular options are 10–14-night stays in 4–5* hotels.
At PAC Group, they note increased demand for many properties in Montenegro: Villa Agrum, Villa Amfora, Villa Jokovic, Villa L, Villa Mico, Villa Poco, Villa Sanja, Villa Yana, Villa Andro, Imperia Residence, Villa Prestige, Villa Gregovic, Mediteran 4*, Vile Oliva 4*, Iberostar Bellevue 4*, Slovenska Plaza 3*, Slovenska Plaza 4.
