The state-owned company Croatian Motorways (Hrvatske autoceste — HAC) plans to invest 1.3 billion euros to complete the entire highway to Dubrovnik (Croatia).
By September 30 of this year, Croatian Motorways must sign an agreement with ten Croatian banks on refinancing debt in the amount of 1.572 billion euros, and an agreement with seven Croatian banks on a new loan of 600 million euros.
With this refinancing and new debt, 1.350 billion euros will be secured for the completion of the highway construction from Metković to Dubrovnik and from Križišće to Žuta Lokva, HAC explains. In addition, they claim, this will secure around 35 million euros per year in the long term for regular investment maintenance of the roads and the company’s operational activities.
According to available information, the agreement with the banks on refinancing and the new loan is nearing completion.
Croatian Motorways currently owes 3.030 billion euros, and under the existing repayment plan, all loans are due to be repaid in 2030. To make loan repayment easier, find funds for new investments, and ensure the company’s normal operations, it has been agreed with the banks that loan repayment will be extended until 2040.
As can be seen from the map of the state-owned company Hrvatska autoceste (HAC), the southern part of the “Dalmatina” section ends above Dubrovnik, after the Osojnik interchange, and the planners предусмотрели continuation of the highway to Podgorica.
