The case concerning the abolition of the non-working Sunday, which has been in effect for retail and wholesale trade since October 20 last year, is still under consideration by the Constitutional Court.

The initiative to remove this provision from the Law on Internal Trade was submitted to the highest court by the Employers' Union in September last year.

Over the course of the year, market inspectors identified 15 cases of law violations. The total amount of fines imposed is 13,500 euros. According to the staff of the Inspection Affairs Administration, all of them have been collected.

The fine for a legal entity is 1,000 euros, while for an entrepreneur it is 300 euros.

The highest number of violations was identified by inspectors in Budva — five cases. The total amount of fines came to 5,100 euros. Nikšić received two fines totaling 2,400 euros. Podgorica received two fines amounting to 1,500 euros.

Inspectors in Ulcinj, Danilovgrad, and Kotor imposed fines of 1,200 euros in each municipality. Shops in Berane, Tuzi, and Herceg Novi were fined 300 euros each.

“Most violations were identified at markets and in shops selling discounted beverages,” the administration noted.

They emphasized that they continue to monitor the work of shops to this day.
