The airports in Podgorica and Tivat will soon be renovated and modernized to provide passengers with as much comfort as possible and, over time, generate more revenue through non-aeronautical income. Around one million euros will be invested in the development and modernization project. This was announced by the Executive Director of Airports of Montenegro, Danilo Orlandic.
“Our priority was the safety of passengers and aircraft, so the investments are focused on modernizing equipment and technology. The time has come to improve passenger comfort. Airports are the first impression for every passenger arriving in Montenegro, and the fight for every guest has already begun,” Orlandic said.
He explained that no investments had been made in the business lounges of both airports for a long time, but they must meet the criteria of the clients they are intended for. Thus, around 400,000 euros will be invested in renovating the VIP lounge at Podgorica Airport.
Last year, non-aeronautical revenues of Airports of Montenegro, which include shops, cafes and restaurants, office space rentals and advertising space, amounted to 8% and 4.7 million euros respectively of total revenues compared to 35 million last year.
