The State Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Borko Bajić, said that a new measure to prevent the spread of the virus will come into force on January 26. Thus, every citizen, whether of Montenegro or another country, arriving from the United Kingdom, must have a negative PCR test result no older than 72 hours.
The remaining measures are in force until February 10:
1. Curfew from 22:00 to 05:00. Exception — walking pets (maximum 60 minutes). 2. Cafes, restaurants, supermarkets and shopping centers operate from 7:00 to 20:00. Operation of children's playrooms is prohibited. 3. Travel between cities and municipalities is allowed without restrictions. 4. It is prohibited to gather outdoors in groups of more than four adults. 5. Religious rites and gatherings are allowed on the condition — one person per 10 sq. m. 6. Wearing masks outdoors and indoors is mandatory. 7. Renting accommodation for more than two people is prohibited, except for members of one family. 8. Entry into Montenegro is allowed to everyone without a PCR test, except for those arriving from the United Kingdom.
“The epidemiological situation in the country is complex and indicates that there is no room for relaxation. However, over the past week there has been a slight decrease in the number of cases,” said the director of the Institute of Public Health, Igor Galić.
Answering journalists' questions, Galić noted that the new measure was introduced because the largest number of cases of infection with the new strain of the virus is in the United Kingdom.
As for vaccination, Galić said that the exact date of the vaccines' arrival is still unknown.
Recall that Montenegro plans to receive the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine at the end of January. However, vaccination of citizens will begin with the Pfizer vaccine, which has a European certificate.
