The total inflow of direct foreign investment invested in Montenegro at the end of August amounted to 758.22 million euros, which is 44.58 percent more than in the same period last year. According to preliminary data from the Central Bank of (CBCG), the largest contribution to the growth came from investments in share capital. At the same time, 198.89 million euros were withdrawn from the country.
“The net inflow of direct foreign investment amounted to 559.33 million euros, which is 78.04 percent more compared to the same period last year,” the CBCG bulletin says.
72.58 million euros flowed out of the country on the basis of residents’ investments abroad, while the withdrawal of funds by non-residents invested in Montenegro amounted to 126.31 million euros.
The inflow of direct foreign investment in the form of investments in share capital amounted to 410.76 million euros, which is 54.17 percent of the total volume. Of this, 281.59 million euros was invested in real estate, and 129.17 million euros — in companies and banks.
