Banks operating in the Montenegrin marketposted a profitof 31.1 million euros in the first six months of this year, according to operating reports submitted to the Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG).
Nine banksendedthe first half of the year in profit, while Zapad and Zirat banka reported losses. The result achieved is slightly higher than that recorded in the same period last year, when banks posted a profit of 29.5 million dollars in six months.
CKB Bank (Crnogorska komercijalna banka) posted the highest profit, at 9.36 million euros, followed by Erste with 5.8 million, and NLB with a profit of 4.98 million euros.
Hipotekarna’s profit amounted to 4.1 million, Adriatik’s to 2.5 million, and Universal Capital’s to 2.24 million. Adiko Bank earned 1.12 million, Lovćen one million, and Prva banka 437,000 euros.
Zapad Bank’s loss for the second quarter amounted to 255,000 euros, while Zirat’s was 85,000 euros.
Over the six-month period, banks earned a total of 80.47 million euros from interest and 21 million euros from fees and commissions. Here too, CKB leads with the largest market share, with net interest income of 24.9 million euros and fee and commission income of 5.7 million euros. NLB Bank’s net interest income amounted to 13.76 million dollars, and fee and commission income to 2.29 million.
Erste Bank earned 11.8 million from interest and 1.8 million from commissions. It is followed by Hipotekarna with 7.84 million euros in net interest income and 3.91 million euros from fees and commissions, and Adiko with 5.3 million euros in interest income and 837,000 euros from fees and commissions.
Lovćen banka earned 4.7 million from interest and 390,000 euros from fees and commissions, Prva banka 3.52 million from interest and 783,000 euros from fees and commissions, while Universal Capital collected 2.84 million from interest and 2.41 million from fees and commissions.
Adriatik Bank’s interest income amounted to 2.71 million euros, and its fee and commission income to 2.26 million euros. Zapad Bank earned 2.17 million euros in interest income and 556,000 euros in fees and commissions. Zirat Bank earned the least from interest and commissions — 930,000 euros, or 216,000 euros.
