Currently, there are about 37,500 tourists in Budva, which is 79% compared to 2019, according to the tourist organization of Montenegro.

The director of the Budva Tourist Organization, Maja Liješević said that about 14,000 tourists are staying in hotels, and this is at the level of 2019. More than 23,000 tourists are staying in private accommodation, which is 70 percent compared to 2019.

“As for the composition of guests, most tourists come to Budva from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, then from Ukraine and Russia. There are also guests from Kazakhstan, Israel, France, and Turkey,” said Maja Liješević.

She also said that a series of events is planned in the city, which will be organized in compliance with all epidemiological measures.

“We hope that the positive trend in tourists coming to our city will continue,” added the director.

Hotel owners are satisfied with the season and the flow of tourists

The public relations manager of Budva Riviera, Elena Kaludjerović said that this season is characterized by last-minute offers, which contribute to the daily increase in the number of guests.

“We will be very satisfied if the hotel fills up with such dynamics, which is at a satisfactory level. Our hotels entered the market with very good offers, these are prices that were 15 percent lower compared to 2019, and in the following period we will continue the policy of lower prices compared to 2019,” she emphasized.

The manager of the Avala Hotel, Dušan Bećir is also satisfied with the number of guests and the hotel’s full capacity.

“We have interesting preliminary statistical indicators. As for the number of overnight stays, 2021 is a few estimates above 2019. On the other hand, it is true that we set prices cautiously, and in that sense the overall revenue was reduced. We hope this will be a very successful season,” says Bećir.

He emphasizes that there were no tourists from Western Europe, but the number of tourists from Ukraine is increasing. In addition, tourists from Serbia and Israel predominate.

Café and restaurant owners are also achieving good results

The owner of the company Veluza, Luka Vučković, under which the Mozart restaurant operates, said that business exceeded all expectations.

“We currently have about 45% of the turnover compared to 2019, which is an outstanding result for us. The guests are mostly from the region, there are Ukrainians and Russians. Prices are affordable both in hotels and in restaurants. We hope that the epidemiological situation will be good, and that we will be able to prepare for the post-season,” he said.

Vučković notes that all epidemiological measures are observed in the café, disinfectants are on the tables, the staff wears masks, and they are all vaccinated.
