Montenegro is carrying out a large-scale modernization of its transport network: 13 major infrastructure projects worth more than €150 million are currently being actively implemented in the country. Among them are the construction of the Tivat–Jaz section, works on the Bar–Krute and Nikšić–Plužine routes, the reconstruction of the Đurđevića Bridge, and the removal of a landslide on the Mojkovac–Tara road.
One of the key priorities is preparation for the second phase of construction of the Mateševo–Andrijevica highway. Already, 10 international companies have applied to participate in the project, which is planned to begin by the end of 2025. In addition, design work is underway for the entire highwayBar – Boljare.
Special attentionis being givento solving the transport problems of the coast. Thus, theTivat – Jazroad serves more than 20,000 vehicles daily, and in summer almost twice as many. Its reconstruction will be completed by the next tourist season.
These projects not only improve transport accessibility, but also open up opportunities for investment, job creation, and the country’s regional development.
