As of February 25, new quarantine measures come into force in Montenegro. The special anti-epidemic measures, previously adopted for the municipalities of Budva and Tivat are now also valid for Herceg Novi. The new measures will be in effect for the next 15 days. This was announced by the director of the Institute of Public Health of Montenegro, Igor Galić.
Quarantine measures in force throughout the country:
Opening hours for restaurants, cafes and shops are from 7:00 to 18:00.
Curfew from 21:00 to 5:00. Exception: walking pets, but for no more than 60 minutes a day.
Intercity travel is prohibited on weekends.
Excursions, live music performances, and the operation of children's playrooms, Ferris wheels and amusement parks are prohibited.
In Podgorica, Danilovgrad, Cetinje, Nikšić, Ulcinj, Kotor, Danilovgrad, Tuzi and Bar, restaurants are closed.
Important: there is also a ban on selling takeaway coffee in these municipalities and on the operation of vending machines.
Quarantine measures for Budva, Tivat and Herceg Novi:
Restaurants, cafes, shopping centers, non-food stores, hair salons and gyms are prohibited from operating.
It is prohibited to go to the beach and walk in parks, squares, etc.
Kindergartens and schools are switching to online learning.
Gatherings outdoors and indoors are prohibited.
Children's playgrounds and outdoor gyms are closed.
Intercity travel without a valid reason is prohibited, including on weekdays and weekends. However, there is no such ban for Herceg Novi.
Entry rules for Montenegro
A mandatory PCR test no older than 72 hours is required for entry from the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, Israel, India, Bahrain, Lebanon, South Africa, Brazil, the USA, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Malta, France, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Ireland, Belgium, Denmark, and the Czech Republic.
On February 24, San Marino, Luxembourg, Andorra, Slovakia, Bulgaria and Botswana were added to this list.
For entry from other countries a PCR test is not required.
Vaccination registration
Mina Gazivoda, a specialist in medical psychology, said that with the help of the new digital platform www.covidodgovor.me citizens can sign up and take their place in the vaccination queue.
Recall that 2,000 doses of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine have already arrived in Montenegro. Vaccination of staff working with COVID-19 patients has begun at the Clinical Center of Montenegro (KCCG). Another 5,000 doses of the Russian vaccine will arrive by the end of the week. Montenegrin authorities are also expecting 30,000 doses of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine. Shipment is planned for February 27 from Beijing.
Mina Gazivoda also said that the free psychological support hotlines have resumed their work. The line (1555) will operate every working day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekends.
Over the past 24 hours, 574 new COVID-19 cases were registered. 12 people died from the virus. The list of the deceased included patients from Budva (3), Kotor (2), Podgorica (2), Berane (2), Danilovgrad (1), Cetinje (1) and Bar (1). In addition, 458 people recovered from the virus.
